Mitotic recombination reveals TfIIA-S does not have a role in eye development.
TfIIA-S has been isolated, molecularly cloned and expressed. Recombinant purified TfIIA-L and TfIIA-S can form a stable complex with Tbp on DNA, the recombinant protein can stimulate basal transcription and enhances transcriptional activation.
12.5kD small subunit of TFIIA is cloned and the properties of the recombinant protein are studied in vitro. The recombinant protein, in conjunction with human TFIIA, can support both promoter complex formation and transcriptional activated expression of TFIIA.
TfIIA-S is up-regulated and required during Ras-mediated photoreceptor determination.
