In situ and antibody staining show that C15 is expressed in amnioserosa cells, from cellularized blastoderm until the amnioserosa degenerates in late embryogenesis. From stage 11 on, there is also expression in small, segmentally repeated clusters of neurons of the CNS and in sensory cells of the Keilin's organs and of the antenno-maxillary complex.
