UAS-gbb lines that have the SV40 poly(A) signal produce weaker phenotypes than the lines with the signal removed, when crossed to different Scer\GAL4 lines. P{GAL4-dpp.blk1} driven expression of P{UAS-Tgfβ-60A.S1} or P{UAS-Tgfβ-60A.S2} is unable to rescue the mutant phenotype of dppd-blk or dppd6. gbb cannot substitute dpp function in the imaginal discs.
